"Promoted on both on station (Ban Pua Agriculture center) and farm the cropping and livestock raising based CA principle, for maize, rice-bean, forage for livestock at village level (ToT Handbook [13; 13.1])
Xayabouri (cropping methods, cover crops, and rotation integrated with cash crop) Xiengkhuang (forage for livestock production and soil physic and nutrition improvement for cropping system).
Diffusion program on CA was carried our in the form of Namngum watershed management (1 year action) on sweet maize, rice and forage production in Vientiane province and Xaythany district, Vientiane capital. This action also piloting the 'village saving fund' with a cooperation with manage and advice by DAFO (self continuing activity [e.g. Saenoudom village). "

1. No credit providing to poor farmers for investment of production input and tools
2. Limited of budget for supporting the CA activities from both government of Lao and development agency, as well as for the tool development
3. Farmers had a lack of knowledge and awareness of agriculture chemical (herbicides) on farming practices

• Technician at PAFO/DAFO/farmers knowledge and their understanding of CA concept was not sufficient and was not in depth
• CA public awareness (only training) was not wide rang due to limited knowledge’ staff, while the CA technique was new and opposite way of the socio-economics growth
• Behavior of farming practices was difficulty to change (e.g. slash and burn)
• Low incentive of economic return from CA practice

1. Supporting fund for farmer to enable invest to production inputs on CA practice in order to avoid credit from tractor services association with against the CA technique
2. Setting the campaign of the awareness in agriculture chemical and its effect to farmers regularly.
• Modifying the CA principle for the first cropping season to till/or apply herbicide in cash crop, bean and rice farming
• Setting the unity concept and policy on CA/AE approach before implementation by requesting international organization (CIRAD) to support and developing the CA/AE policy for submitting to government and other stakeholders
• Extension policy must be implementing and continuously
• Engaging the local authorities in order to encourage local people and take the CA/AE approach in to account in their community and make change in the farming practices
• Linkage the CA/AE practitioner products to market, or to the industrial process to improve the income generation and value added (how???? with a policy on supporting agricultural industrial or processing sectors with the whole process )
